FLIGHT TRAINING

Minimal Aeronautical Experience Required

  • Student pilot needs to perform total of up to 5 hours of solo T/P (Traffic Pattern)

  • Student will perform two solo cross country flights. Takeoff at a home base airport flight to a destination airport of at least 50 nautical miles and back. The total time of those two flights must be not less than 5 hours

  • Student pilot needs to receive and log at least 3 hours of instrument training (flight training using instruments only without using ground as a reference)

  • Student will receive and log 10 takeoffs and landings at night to a full stop. In average takes around 1.5 hours. The total of night training of at least 3 hours including 10 T/L and night cross country.

GROUND TRAINING

CADET PROGRAM

Pilot in Training Flight Academy thrilled to introduce our exclusive Cadet Program! Designed specifically for students under the age of 16, this program has been meticulously crafted with the aim of acquainting young aviation enthusiasts with the aviation world and aviation safety.

Our Cadet Program is tailored to accommodate the busy lives of students, taking into consideration their busy school schedules and extracurricular activities. Our primary objective is to enhance safety consciousness, and provide cadets with a comprehensive introduction to the fascinating aviation world, among many other valuable skills and experiences.

We recommend a minimum age of 12 years for enrollment in this program.

PPL GROUND SCHOOL

Our Private Pilot Ground School is the premier choice for aspiring pilots looking to master the essential theoretical subjects for a Private Pilot License. Our classroom environment fosters active learning, encouraging students to ask questions and benefit from the experiences of their peers. The program was designed by Slava Mordehaev, a senior flight instructor and commercial pilot.

Our program offers a 25-hour comprehensive curriculum. Classes are conveniently held at Montgomery County Airpark once a week for 10 weeks, from 6:30 pm to 9 pm.

FAQ

  • Minimum 2 months to a one year and it all directly depends on student pilot’s schedule and availability. For someone available once a week probable will finish within one year.

    FAA require to log at least 40 flight hours but the average to obtain PPL is around 65 flight hours.

    Training signing up requirements:

    The new student will be required to undergo the screening procedures following the guidance from TSA and to pass a medical examination.

    To start a training you will need to show a proof of US citizenship or meet the Alien Flight Student Program requirements (TSA standard check) and have at least 3rd Class FAA medical or Basic Med.

  • Yes, the minimum age for a first solo is 16 and the minimum age to obtain a Private Pilot License is 17.
